Selling to the Council

Selling to the Council

The Council has a procurement plan for 2012 – 2016 which sets out how we buy goods and services.

The overall vision for buying goods and services is:

“To manage demand and ensure best value through planned and appropriate procurement, including collaborative procurement, in respect of goods, works and services required by the Council for the sustainable delivery of its services to deliver its priorities."

The Council has rules on how it awards contracts – these are part of the Council's constitution and must be followed.

The Council is committed to transparency and the contracts, over £1,000, that have been awarded can be viewed through the Council's Contract Register.

Any potential contracts worth £50,000 or over are advertised on this website and also on the Government Contract finder website.

We do not maintain any supplier lists, instead the approach taken is that the default is try and use framework agreements that have already been set up.
