Gym access for 13 year olds
- 13 year olds cannot attend Active Youth sessions.
- Young people aged 13 can attend the gyms at any other time when accompanied by a participating and full-paying parent/guardian (18+).
- A pre-booked gym induction is required which must be booked outside of the Active Youth times, and during normal induction times.
- 13 year olds are only permitted to use CV machines. Weights use is not permitted.
- The cost for 13 year olds to use the gym is £2.70 per session. (£2.40 if the young person has a Leisure Advantage card).
Gym access for 14-15 year olds and Active Youth
Young people aged 14-15 years can enjoy discounted and supervised gym access as part of the Active Youth scheme. (This scheme is available all year round including term-time). Advanced booking is required.
- Young people can attend the gyms unaccompanied, during any of the dedicated ‘Active Youth’ times – these sessions are all supervised by a qualified gym instructor.
- 14-15 year olds can use fixed weights machines but can only lift a maximum of 5kg. (Weights use is only permitted during 'Active Youth' sessions.
- 14-15 year olds are not permitted to use free weights.
- Young people will be required to undergo a gym induction. The induction can be during Active Youth or during normal induction times (if attending an induction outside of the Active Youth times, a parent/guardian will need to accompany the young person for the duration of the session).
- A parent/guardian will be required to sign a declaration giving permission for their child to participate.
- Please note that the gym will remain open to all other customers during Active Youth times.
- 14-15 year olds can use the gym outside of the Active Youth times but they must be accompanied by a participating parent/guardian (18+) and weights use is not permitted.
Cost of using the gym
- 13-15 year olds can use the gyms at the Active Youth price of £2.70 per session. (£2.40 if the young person has a Leisure Advantage card).
- Young people can sign up for a Leisure Advantage card at reception for an annual fee of just £2.50.
During the summer holiday there are further discounts available for gym use as part of funding from Staffordshire Space Scheme allowing 13-17 year olds to access the gyms for just £1 per session!

Wolves Soccer Schools
Wolves Soccer School is holding soccer sessions at our leisure centres for children aged from Year reception to year 7.

Discounted Fitness Memberships for Students and Apprentices
Young people aged 16 years+ and who are in full time education or training through an apprenticeship are eligible to join the leisure centres with a discounted membership package. For full details, click here.
Training Courses
The South Staffordshire Training Academy operates various courses throughout the year which are delivered at the council’s leisure centres. Courses provided include National Pool Lifeguard Qualification courses, Swimming teacher award and certificate courses and aquatic helper courses.
*Funded places may also be available for students living in South Staffordshire.
